News EBI Magazine Bioenergy Connection Honored By Academic Advancement Group

The Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE)  has named Bioenergy Connection, the magazine of the Energy Biosciences Institute, a bronze award winner in its 2014 Circle of Excellence awards program. Bioenergy Connection was recognized for its Vol. 2.3 issue “Forest Bioenergy:  Is It Sustainable?”

A panel of experts selected the institution’s entry in the Special Issues category. The awards recognize “superior accomplishments that have lasting impact, demonstrate the highest levels of professionalism, and deliver exceptional results,” according to CASE.

This year, higher education institutions, independent schools, and nonprofits from around the world submitted more than 3,000 entries in 100 categories for consideration in the Circle of Excellence program.

CASE is one of the largest international associations of education institutions, serving more than 3,600 universities, colleges, schools, and related organizations in 76 countries.

Bioenergy Connection is a twice-yearly magazine published by the Energy Biosciences Institute, which seeks to combat global warming by creating sustainable, renewable energy through the study of cellulosic (non-food) biofuel. The magazine’s mission is to investigate all aspects of bioenergy  -- including its social, economic,  and environmental impacts -- and to engage readers in a lively, science-based conversation about it.

The Energy Biosciences Institute is a public-private collaboration in which bioscience and biological techniques are being applied to help solve the global energy challenge.
